Page Browser - a tool that allows Facebook users to find Pages to like was removed due to uncertain reason earlier this month. But two days before, Facebook again rolled out Page Browser that will help you to discover Facebook pages and “Like” the Pages you like.
Page Browser or Discover Facebook Pages is a collection of Facebook Pages, that users can discover and “like” according to their interests. Ben Blumenfeld, a Facebook engineer, says “We’re now ready to release the Page Browser. We’ve even added a couple fun things like a way for you to discover interests from other countries and a way to see which of your friends is most similar to you,”.
Discovering Facebook Pages of your interests are very easy, just head towards Page Browser where you will find an array of thumbnails representing Facebook communities. If you feel something is of your interest, just hover over the thumbnail and a like button will pop up. Click it and you will get all news from that community incorporated in your News feed. If you want to know more about the community, just click the title under the thumbnail.
After its official launch, not too much changed to Page Browser. You can still see that communities are categorized into nine different categories, i.e., Musicians, Sports, Celebrities, Movies, TV shows, Media, Politicians and Games. Right to the thumbnail, you will see country drop-down menu for finding popular pages by country and the “Friends similar to you” – showing mutual “Likes”.
Page Browser is an official Facebook product now, so I believe that it would exist for more time and will see some more changes in the future. As of now, there are some things missing in Page Browser, i.e.,
- Dedicated search bar
- “Friends similar to you” become more powerful to find more interesting Pages
- Advertising should also come for more brand exposure
Besides these three things which I think missing at the moment, Page Browser is a great start for both Facebook, users and page owners. Let’s see how it evolves in the future.

I would love to see more features in the page browser. You would think that with all of the data that facebook has stored on its server that they would have a simple search bar option. I would love it if facebook would offer a way to group similar pages that you like together.
